The hotel is located near the train station and the historic old town of Geneva. It is also within walking distance of Lake Léman. Guests should be aware that although it is fairly near the red light district, it remains safe to walk to and from.

The Admiral Hotel is 3-star property, which prides itself on boasting theatrical flair and panache, while also retaining exclusive atmosphere of a private club. It is housed in a modern building with a fairly plain grey façade. The large windows at ground level let plenty of natural light into the cosy lobby, which also has a comfortable seating area. The emphasis in all of the 35 soundproofed guestrooms is on the well being and tranquillity of guests. Though fairly small, each one is pleasantly appointed, with neutral décor that offers an attractive contrast to the soft velvet bedspreads, patterned curtains and beautiful paintings. Well maintained and equipped, all the rooms are non-smoking. There is no restaurant, but the hotel offers a Continental Buffet every morning in the breakfast room, situated next to the lobby. The buffet includes various cold cuts, from sausages to ham and salmon, eight different kinds of cheese, ten kinds of jam, and different breads.
