The oldest family owned hotel in Geneva, the Beau Rivage has adapted to a changing world for over a century without losing its air of tradition and serenity. The imposing exterior conveys a strong impression of opulence. The atrium-style lobby contains a small fountain, Italian frescoes, statues, fresh flowers and antique furniture, creating a soothing atmosphere. The 97 palatial guestrooms feature period furniture, original frescoes, triple phone lines, enormous safes, plush bathrobes and a pervading sense of romance. They are all clean and well maintained, as are the bathrooms, which offer Trussardi accessories. Overlooking the lake and serving gourmet French cuisine, the hotel’s Le Chat-Botté ("Puss in Boots") Restaurant subtly blends tradition and creativity. The menu is accompanied by fine wines from a century-old cellar and a selection of rare cheeses. There’s also the Patara Restaurant, which serves fine Thai cuisine, and the relaxing L’Atrium Bar, which offers English teas, drinks and light snacks.
