Old Town Hotels
Geneva’s Old Town is crammed with Neoclassical architecture, historic landmarks and fascinating museums. With its quiet, cobbled streets and tall grey-stone houses, it has quite an austere atmosphere. In the Place Neuve, there’s the Musée Rath, Geneva’s first art museum, as well as the Grand-Théâtre, Geneva’s opera house and principal theatre stage. In the Place de la Taconnerie you’ll find the imposing Cathédrale St-Pierre and the Auditoire de Calvin (there’s still a Church of Scotland ceremony here every Sunday.) And at the elevated Promenade de la Treille, you can plant yourself on the longest bench in the world and enjoy a beautiful view over the Parc des Bastions.
