This is a great basic hotel. Great location, opposite the station, near the lake, 15 minute walk to the old town.
Top Tip
Definitely eat a cheese fondue with meat!

When travelling to Chillion Castle - after you've arrived at Montreux railway station remember that you will need No 1 bus wich is NOT immediately outside the train station. So you need to get out of the station, cross the road, then you'll see escalator and steps going down (next to a cafe on you right). Go down the steps and cross the road in front of you - the bus stop to Chillion is on the OTHER side slightly to your right. Excellent day off - visit Chillion, then stroll back to Montreux - it'll take you about an hour (time to stop, take pictures and admire the views is included!). It's worth it!

if going with children try to to make sure you get one of the big family rooms as we had a small room compared with friends we went with their room was double the size which make life a bit easy just a top tip but apart from that no complaints

Very central. Small but clean room. Bathroom tiny but at the price in central Geneva I have no complaints. Would not choose it for a romantic weekend but for a lonely night at a conference - its ideal.
Top Tip
Ask for free bus and train pass.

Our room was fine overlooking the area with trees at the rear of the hotel. Location "4" because it fronts onto very busy area but conveniently for us right outside the station. We've given the facilities "3" because the WC was rather cramed in the back corner of the shower room so on sitting knees finished under the wash basin - might be a bit tight if a slightly overweight person was given this room. We looked in bedroom next to ours in the morning and it did not have this problem. The breakfast was full buffet described as an American breakfast at the English pub a couple of doors down which was not a problem at all and excellent choices of hot and cold food. Complimentary bus pass given to us by hotel on arrival which was unexpected and a nice gesture.
Top Tip
We arrived by TGV and hotel was just across the road opposite church. Short stroll to lake and up market shops and Old Town over bridge.

Tourist hotel in square with other tourist hotels. Breakfast in pub next door. Close to transport links.
Top Tip
Do not try and drive in Geneva. Avoid locals. Not much to do.
